West Point, CA....Emergency crews responded to a vehicle collision on 3/27/09 at Hwy 26 and Main Street in West Point at approximately 5pm. One woman was life-flighted out with what was initially reported as major injuries and she subsequently passed away at Doctor's Medical Center of Modesto. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families and friends involved....
San Andreas, CA....Longtime San Andreas resident, William "Bill" Theodore Paulos, passed away on March 21st, 2009 of Natural Causes at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital. He was 85. He was a resident of San Andreas for 60 years. A native of Jordan, MT, he grew up, lived and worked on ranches. Bill moved to California in 1949 where a job as head custodian for Calaveras School District waited for him. "Old Timers" may remember him for training horses, a real passion for him. He retired after 47 years in 1996. He liked to fish, camp and most of all spent most of his time riding horses and helping friends with cattle on summer range in the Highland Lakes area.....
Valley Springs, CA.....Longtime Valley Springs Resident, Jack Dennis Crabtree, passed away on March 22, 2009 at his residence of Natural Causes. He was 77. A native of Cromwell, OK, Jack moved to Napa, CA in 1941 and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War in a MASH Unit. After the war he moved to Vallejo, CA in 1954, then to Santa Cruz, CA in 1963 and settled in Valley Springs in 1991. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ione. His is survived by his wife, Dorothy Crabtree of Valley Springs; ....

Valley Springs, CA...Unfortunately we have just confirmed that Dr. Michael L. Pullen, who was a Dentist at DuHamel & Pullen Family Dental in Valley Springs, his wife, Vanessa Pullen, and children Sydney and Chris Pullen died in Sunday's tragic plane crash in Montana....

San Andreas, CA...The Flock Gym at Calaveras High School was filled with students, friends and family members yesterday afternoon honoring the Montgomery family children who lost their lives in a tragic motor vehicle accident. The gym was almost filled to capacity with those in our community to pay their respects and to say goodbye to the three young members of the Montgomery family. Tears, smiles and warm feelings flowed freely as members of the community lined up to talk about their departed friends...

Valley Springs, CA....Terry Robert Birely Ward, a longtime resident of Valley Springs, passed away at his residence on March 15th 2009 of Natural Causes. He was 80 years old. He was a Retired Security Guard. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his children, David Ward of Redding; Justin Ward of Lodi and Ryan Ward of Galt; His Brothers, Carl Ward of Coarse Head, NY; and one Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his Brother, Bruce Ward. Private services will be held.

Soulsbyville, CA...CHP has released the details of yesterday's fatal collision in Tuolumne County the claimed the lives of two local residents. 60 year old Ronald Lancaster of Sonora, perished at the scene and a 63 year old Sonora Woman (Sheri D. Pratt) succumbed to her injuries overnight at a Modesto hospital. Pending identification. For some reason she made a sudden movement into the oncoming traffic which Mr. Lancaster was unable to avoid. The CHP release is enclosed...

San Andreas, CA...A Celebration of Life is planned for Jeremy S. Peters this Saturday, March 7th at 1pm at the Metropolitan in San Andreas. Jeremy tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident in Mountain Ranch on Sunday. He was only 34. A Native of Modesto, Jeremy grew up in West Point and has lived there most of his life. He has been working at Senders Market in Mountain Ranch for approximately 16 years. He was a member of the NRA.....

San Andreas, CA...Longtime San Andreas Resident, Donna Louise Wills passed away at her residence of Natural Causes on March 4, 2009. She was only 51. Donna was a longtime resident of San Andreas for 24 years. She was born in Antioch, CA. on June 24th, 1957. " Donna grew up there, and enjoyed fishing riding her Harley, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a way with nature and everything outdoors. She has five beautiful children and four grandchildren to carry on her legacy that she loved. I know not just our family, but many more will be missing her. God Bless Her! ".......
