Traffic Alert...Vehicle Accident with Fire on Hwy 12

Valley Springs, CA....Crews are on the way to an accident on Hwy 12 near Evans Road. Reporting parties are stating a possible van overturned and on fire after colliding with a tree. More to follow....Update as of 12:02am....First on scene is reporting the vehicle off the roadway and fully involved and there has been some extension of the fire into vegetation.... Update as of 12:11am...the occupants were able to get out of the vehicle and the fire has been called contained. Great work everyone!! Update as of 12:19am...The eastbound lane will be blocked for removal of a downed oak tree. Please use caution in the area...

Valley Springs Elementary Hosting "Elementary Literacy Camp"

Valley Springs Elementary School in Calaveras County, California will be hosting an ”Elementary Literacy Summer Camp” on the mornings of June 13, 14, and 15 from 8AM to 11:30 AM each day. Camp is a free hands on literacy program where 100 local elementary aged students and their families will enhance and build a new love for reading together through experiencing different methods of the printed media......

Valley Springs, CA....Robin Earl, of Valley Springs, passed away on June 6, 2011, of Natural Causes. He was 57. He was an Electrician for PG& E. Robin Brown was born in New Castle, IN on August 31, 1953. He grew up in Warren, IN and lived in Texas for over 20 yrs. In 1991 he moved to Concord, CA and went to work for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for 15 yrs. After retiring he settled in Valley Springs, CA for the last 7 yrs. .....

Valley Springs, CA...Mr.Fred Hillious was born in French Camp, Ca on October 29, 1937. Entered into rest May 27, 2011 in Lodi, Ca. He leaves his wife Eileen Hillious of 51 Yrs. He was in the U.S. Air Force for 4 Yrs. He was very proud to serve as a Military Policeman for USAF in the highest security on sac base and strategic air command. Mr. Hillious was a welder and worked for Calaveras Co. Road Dept. He also was an owner/ operator truck driver. Fred was an avid......
