Calaveras County students in grades four through twelve, who are recommended by their school or who have won at their school’s Science Fair, participated in a countywide Science Fair that was held on Saturday. It was Sponsored by the Teichert Foundation and the Calaveras County Office of Education, this was the 26th Annual Science Fair, which was held in the Calaveras River Academy Mountain Oaks School gymnasium. Judging of projects began at 9:00 am and included an interview with the student, and a team of judges. Awards were then presented at the Awards Ceremony in the afternoon....

Calaveras County, CA....The Angels Camp Business Association and the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee are hosting the annual Window Decorating Contest. Businesses throughout Calaveras County are encouraged to paint their windows, create a window display or an in-store display featuring the 2011 fair theme of “Pirates of the Carrots and Beans” and enter the contest to win 10 fair passes and a trophy to display in your business.....

Valley Springs, CA...Congressman Tom McClintock will be in Valley Springs on Sunday April 17th at 2:00 to speak to a Tea Party event held at the Veterans Memorial Softball Fields. Other speakers include Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen and Ginny Rapini of NorCal Tea Party Patriots. Live music begins at 1:00 and many tables and booths from local businesses and organizations will be on hand...

| Calaveras County, CA....Stitchers for Hope is having a Bake Sale on Saturday April 23rd in front of Mar Val's in Valley Springs - 9:00 till we run out of goodies - usually noonish!! Cakes, cupcakes, candy for your Easter Holiday. Relay for life will be held at Calaveras High School on April 30th and May 1st of 2011. |
