Jenny Lind, CA....The rolling event that is the Amgen Tour of California has just finished it trek across the western part of Calaveras County. As the peleton headed down Milton Road there was a break away group that was still about 5 minutes ahead of the main pack or peleton. 150 or so of the best cyclists in the world sped past us between 24-28 miles an hour as the race left the foothills behind and headed for Modesto.

Valley Springs, CA...The center of the cycling world will briefly center around Amador and Western Calaveras Counties if only briefly as the Amgen Tour Peleton flies through our area. There will be sprint points to be had in the Ione area and then they will continue speeding down from the foothills to the valley floor to finish in Modesto. Nationally recognized cyclist Seana Hogan who is also a local resident of Rancho Calaveras has accepted my invitation and confirmed she will join the cheer section at Jenny Lind. Are You Ready For Some Redistricting??

Posted by: John_Hamilton on 05/09/2011 11:22 AM
San Andreas, CA...The Great Redistricting Debate of 2011 starts with a redistricting study session tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm in the Board Chambers. This will have big impacts on upcoming Supervisor Elections. If District 3 has lost population should it be enlarged to include Murphys? Should District 4 be adjusted to include Copperopolis? This would make this district easier to represent as then it would align with the school districts and be cleaner geographically. Should Supervisor Tofanelli's District be adjusted?
