Mokelumne Hill, CA...Twelve lucky students can participate in a three-day art workshop, Oil Painting – A Direct Approach with Howard Rees, Aug. 15 through 17 at Petroglyphe Gallery, 8317 Main St., Mokelumne Hill in its adjacent Quarry Hill Studio. Klassens at Deborah Marlene's

Posted by: Lea_Marie_C_Paar on 07/29/2014 11:35 AM
Mokelumne Hill, Ca...As the year marches on, so does the Artwork in Deborah Marlene's. "I belong to the Arts of Bear Valley. We have two back to back Art Shows in the Summer; the current one at the Perry Walther Building during the Bear Valley Music Festival and one at Big Trees State Park beginning on August 11th. For this reason, it is with great pleasure that I welcome the Klassen's of San Andreas to show on all the walls of my Gallery this month. It is not often that you meet an "Artistic Couple". Randy and Joyce have been married for almost 33 years. Previous articles about them, have told extensively about their sharing their love for God and Art. Randy is an ordained Minister, who worked 40 years in the Evangelical Covenant Church of America. There was a 6 year break during that time and from 1981 to 1987, Randy and Joyce became fully involved in doing art work professionally. This adventure included art shows and galleries in California, a cultural exchange in China, and a three week experience if sketching and painting in France...

Beating the Heat in the Gold Country - Huffington Post "In The Gold Country" Feature

Posted by: Lea_Marie_C_Paar on 07/22/2014 12:32 PM
Mokelumne Hill, Ca - The Hotel Leger, a few hours out of the Bay Area, hasn't changed all that much from the gold rush. And local bands in the bars on weekend are probably a tradition as old as the hotel. I have to admit, for those of us who live any reasonable distance off of Main Street, after awhile you learn to either enjoy it, wander over for a glass of wine to check it out, or on "open mike" night, put Pandora on your TV at home and turn it up a bit. It's okay. We support it around here. We love our old hotel. But on Sundays during the summer, between 1 and 4, we throw our windows open. Or work in the garden. Or wander over to the hotel for a pulled pork sandwich. Sunday afternoons are Blues and Barbecue at the hotel....
