| Calaveras County, CA....On August 5, 2008, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors approved the inclusion of a separate water element in the County General Plan. This marked the beginning of the development of a county-wide water element. What is a Water Element? A water element is a self-contained document that identifies and articulates goals, policies, and objectives for the multiple uses of water. It can address all or some of these uses, such as water supply, wastewater, water quality, stormwater management, flood.... |

* Foster coordination, collaboration and communication among regional and local agencies responsible for water-related issues
* Achieve greater efficiencies in project development and implementation;
* Build public support for vital projects
* Identify the most important water-related projects according to a set of criteria
* Improve regional competitiveness for project funding......

General Plan Water Element Meetings Continue |

San Andreas, CA....Development of the county wide water element continue through December 4th. Members from most of the local utility districts and members of the general public have been attending the General Plan Water Element meetings. The attendees discussed water issues affecting the the county now and into the future. They also broke out into groups to discuss goals, conflicts, and interests that surround the General Plan Water Element. There will be four additional meetings on this topic as the group works to complete the General Plan Element....
