New CCWD General Manager Named~by Pat Emerson |

San Andreas, CA...Joone Kim Lopez has been hired to serve as General Manager of the Calaveras County Water District starting June 1, 2010. Lopez joins CCWD having most recently served as the Vice President and Assistant General Manager of the Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company in San Bernardino County. She previously served as the Deputy General Manager of the Central Basin Municipal Water District. She has a Masters degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge. Her record of public service is extensive, including service as a peace officer with the Pasadena Police Department where she won commendations, including a medal for bravery under fire. ...

Water Bill Payment Scam - AGAIN |

CCWD first alerted customers in October 2009 of a telephone scam relating to water bill payments. Sad to say, many months later this illegal activity is still going on. Some water district customers have received what appear to be automated phone calls telling them that their account is overdue, and directing them to call a specific phone number and provide their credit card number for payment. Jeffrey Meyer, CCWD Finance Director confirms that the District does not engage in automated call collections. Communications relating to amounts owed including water and sewer service bills and later reminder notices are mailed to customers. ...
