Columbia, CA...Columbia State Historic Park will present “Diggins Tent Town 1852”, their annual living history event this coming May 19th through May 22nd. Sponsored by Friends of Columbia and Columbia State Historic Park and depicted by over 150 costumed volunteers, visitors can experience the events and environment of an 1850’s mining camp that is re-created in detail from the clothing, food and entertainment.

Tuolumne County, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has removed the winter snow, cleared the debris and made the necessary repairs to open State Route 108 over Sonora Pass at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. The diligent work of Caltrans crews enabled the opening of the pass for motorists who utilize this route. Caltrans crews responsible for the road opening extend their best wishes for safe summer traveling to those who enjoy the recreational opportunities this part of California has to offer.

Groveland, CA...A plane crash was reported to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office this afternoon at around 1212 P.M., at the Pine Mountain Lake Airport. A bystander saw a plane take off and crash down past the runway into the tree and power line area. Two citizens went to the area and found the crash cite as Fire and Ambulance responded....
Sonora, CA...8 May 2016, at approx. 11:25 p.m. officers responded to Wal-Mart regarding a push out of merchandise. Officers contacted the Asset Protection Officer for Wal-Mart, who related they had stopped a female subject who had pushed two shopping carts full of merchandise out of the store, which she didn’t pay for.

Sonora, CA...Early Saturday morning on 05/07/2016, at around 2:09 AM, The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office received a call from the 21000 block of Montgomery Rd in Sonora. It was reported that a 48 year old man had burns all over his body from an explosion. Tuolumne County Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene and discovered a Butane Honey Oil lab at the residence. The patient was flown from Sonora to UC Davis for a higher level of care. The scene was turned over to The Tuolumne Narcotics Team Detectives for a complete investigation.
Jacob and Keira Owens (Missing Children) Have Returned. Mom Took Them To Las Vegas!

Sonora, CA...This evening Jacob and Keira Owens returned to their father's home in Sonora. The children's aunt met with mom Angela Owens to pick up the children and she brought them back to Tuolumne County. The children had been in Las Vegas with their mother Angela and her boyfriend Kenneth. A Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputy went to their father's home and spoke with Jacob and Keira. The children appeared to be uninjured and in good health.
Sonora, CA...The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office Detectives are actively searching for two children who were last seen on Monday 05/02/2016. It is not believed that the children are in danger but we need to check on their welfare. Jacob and Keira were last seen at school on Monday and were picked up by their mother Angela Owens. Angela failed to drop off the children for their father's visitation day on Wednesday 05/04/2016 and Jacob and Keira have not been at school since Monday. Their father nor any family have been able to contact them.
