Saturday, 7th May 2016, will be the annual Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse, Mother Lode Round-Up Parade. This event will bring thousands of visitors to downtown Sonora. Several streets will be closed before and during the parade including parts of State Highway 49. People need to plan ahead if they are attending the parade or trying to get through town during the parade. Detours will be posted for those streets which will be closed. Caltrans Clears Mountain Passes Each Spring to Open High-Altitude State Highways for Spring and Summer Travel

Stockton, CA...In this Caltrans News Flash, you get a front-row seat as Caltrans maintenance crews clear highways, cutting through steep and narrow mountain passes, including the Sonora pass in Tuolumne County, and the Ebbetts and Monitor passes in Alpine County. Snow and ice must be shoved off the road, rocks and debris must be removed, brush has to be cut back and sometimes 300-ton boulders must be blasted before the highway is safe for public travel. These mountain passes typically close in the fall, and Caltrans begins clearing the passes in April.

Angels Camp, CA...The latest schedule of road repairs and maintenance that will affect your travels in our area and as you travel. Locally crews will be working on Hwys 4, 12, 26, 49, 108 & 120. Below is Caltrans plans for repairs and maintenance on local roads. It shows the route, county and location of the possible repairs.
Human Remains Not One Of Local Missing Persons Cases

Pinecrest, CA...The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Detectives are still actively trying to identify the human remains found off of Highway 108 near Old Strawberry Road. A search of the area was completed and no evidence to suggest a cause of death or the identity of the remains was found. Thus far, they have been able to rule out any connection to several local missing person cases and are actively working to determine if there is a connection to any other cases.

Sonora, CA...The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a home invasion robbery which occurred just before 6 AM this morning on Campbells Flat Road in Sonora. This was not a random act. This residence was specifically targeted.
Columbia College's "Symphony Of The Sierra" On April 30th

Columbia, CA...Columbia College will present its spring concert “Symphony of the Sierra” at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th in the Dogwood Theater. The wide-ranging repertoire promises to be a performance well worth hearing. According to orchestra conductor, Mic Harper, “The repertoire provides a wonderful introduction to orchestral music for children and is complex enough to satisfy the seasoned classical ear.”
Pinecrest, CA...Last night around 5:55 PM, an alert citizen spotted what he believed to be human remains in the area of Highway 108 and Old Strawberry Road in Pinecrest and called the Sheriff's Office. Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene and confirmed the remains were human.
