Forest Meadows Completes its 2nd Annual Food Drive!

Forest Meadows, CA...Forest Meadows has completed its' 2nd annual Food Drive to benefit the Resource Connection/Calaveras Food Bank. Volunteers distributed shopping bags (donated by Save Mart) to each home in the community. Then, on Monday, December 3, residents dropped off their filled bags and/or checks to "elves" at the Forest Meadows gate. This year the collection totaled 2400 pounds of food and more than $2300. ...

Pictured is volunteer Florence Hattery, Santa (Tom Kilbride) and event chairperson Mary Piumarta. The Food Drive was coordinated by the Forest Meadows Hospitality Committee who's chairperson is Sue Friedman.

Murphys, CA...Kathleen Josephine Beck, 83 of Murphys, born November 23, 1929 in Alameda, California, died of complications due to illness on Tuesday November 27th at 7:20 pm. Kathleen (Kathy, Kitty, Kit) was mother of Roy Beck (wife Anita) of Murphys, Judy White of Stevensville, TX, and adopted son Robert Beck (wife Vicki) of Oregon and adopted daughter Sissy Beck of Michigan. Kathy was Grandmother of 11 Grandchildren and Great Grandmother to 17 Great- Grandchildren. Kathy was a foster parent for over 53 years and has helped and guided over 100 foster children. Kathleen ALWAYS gave of herself first for the good of others....
