Katie Alice Mauldin 1931 - 2013

Murphys, CA...Katie Alice Mauldin, age 81, died in her Murphys home on Sunday, September 8, 2013. She was born to the late Lois and Gorden Locklear, December 20, 1931, on their family farm in Granite, Oklahoma. She married Olaf Mauldin in 1945, and they lived in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona before settling in Hayward, California in 1954. Katie first job was as a Soda Jerk at the local pharmacy and later finished her career in the meat industry in Oakland. Katie and Olaf retired in Murphys, California in 1980 where they enjoyed many years together...

Make Plans Now to Attend MTMC's 6th Annual Pink In the Night Event October 1st

San Andreas, CA...This year for MTMC’s Annual Pink in The Night Event they will be handing out 60 watt bulbs to breast cancer survivors and those that are currently battling the disease. All five Family Medical Centers, their Cancer Center, and Diagnostic Imaging department will have lights on hand for distribution. The bulbs are funded by The Mark Twain Health Care District and make great porch lights during the month of October for breast cancer awareness. These will be given out to Calaveras County breast cancer survivors and current fighters...

Lost Dog Now at Brice Station

Murphys, CA...Hello Pine Tree - We have found a dog and would like to find its owner if you can help we would appreciate it. Found Dog, Small Terrier mix, possibly corgi, sandy color dragging a black leash. The dog showed up at Brice Station / Quyle Kilns (4 miles east of Murphys)Thursday afternoon. We are unable to approach it - very skittish, but it continues to be around and is playing with our dogs.
