Valley Springs, CA...On Satruday morning Mark Twain Medical Center held their Summer Health Fair in Valley. Community Heath industry booths and Mark Twain Medical Center and Family Medical Center staff were on hand for free and low cost health screenings and more. Also there were Mark Twain Cancer Center's Michael Helwig the Registered Dietitian and Director Debbie Peterson. They are striving for the best in integrated cancer care close to home.
Murphys Mom Undergoing Heart Transplant Surgery Right Now

Stanford Medical Center, CA...Murphys resident Brandi Shipman Clark is under the knife at this time getting a heart transplant. Last fall she contracted an infection that attacked her heart. She went from being a hard working women and mother to being on the transplant list. Her transplant was scheduled to begin at midnight tonight....

San Andreas, CA....Temperatures are expected to hit the century mark in the foothills this weekend and through early next week. Dr. Dean Kelaita, County Health Officer, urges residents to prevent heat-related illnesses by being aware of the dangers and taking action. Infants, children and the elderly are at higher risk of heat illness. Other persons at higher risk of heat illness have health conditions such as obesity, fever, dehydration, heart disease, poor circulation, or misuse of drugs or Temperatures are expected to hit the century mark in the foothills this weekend and through early next week.
