Lost Dog...Please Help! Update...Missy is Now HOME!! |

Murphys, CA...Lost Dog Update...It has been a long story about this dog, someone had picked her up then dropped her off, that is why she couldn't find her way and was so scared. Anyway thanks to everyone with there help and prayers, and to the Murphy's Water Co. for their help in finding her, she is now home resting and so happy. Thank you, thank you, and to Sharon H. who first saw her and everyone. Nancy
Just want to inform everyone that our dog Missy, is her name, has last been seen above Esmeralda and Sheep Ranch Rd. Thank you all for the help, she is heading the right way home. Could you please post that her name is Missy THANKS- Nancy
WE lost our grandsons dog yesterday 1-10-2013. 3yr old Red and White Border Collie, female, between Sheep Ranch and Avery, if found please call 728-8337.

Flu Vaccine Available at Calaveras Public Health Department |

San Andreas, CA...Recent news reports of an expected severe flu season have created an interest in receiving flu vaccine. The Calaveras County Public Health Department encourages residents who have not been vaccinated to do so soon. “Flu cases in the U.S. have occurred earlier than normal and the severity of the flu this year is greater,” reported Dr. Dean Kelaita, County Health Officer. State and county health officials anticipate increased flu activity in California in the coming weeks and urge vaccination now. “Getting vaccinated now allows time for immunity to develop from the vaccine before cases increase,” Dr. Kelaita explained....

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras Visitors Bureau (CVB) has announced that it will provide $2,000 in scholarships this year to area high school students as part of its new Travel Writing Scholarship program. The scholarship opportunity is available to seniors at both Bret Harte and Calaveras High Schools who plan on attending a 2- or 4-year college/university within one year of graduating...

Murphys, CA...Bicyclists from throughout Northern California and Nevada will journey to the historic gold rush town of Murphys to enjoy the spring beauty of Calaveras County and take part in the sixth annual Mr. Frog’s Wild Ride on Saturday, April 20. Two scenic routes, 50K and 100K, will take riders through the area’s verdant countryside at the height of the wildflower season. The longer ride will also include New Melones Lake. Last year 319 cyclists participated....
