Murphys, CA...Second graders in Suzanne Mattson's class made a magnificant discovery last week on the campus of Michelson Elementary in Murphys. As part of their ongoing Social Studies and Reading unit on fossils, they went on an archeological "dig" in the school site sandbox where the students dug up some amazing artifacts. Murphys, CA...Brandon Marshall is a fine example of what young people are capable of if they choose to be. He is a positive, respectful, trustworthy, and empathetic individual who is very close to receiving his Eagle Scouting Award, the highest rank possible in the Boy Scouts of American program. One of the final requirements for such a commendable accomplishment to carryout a community service / leadership project. For his project, Brandon chose to build a monument at the Ebbetts Pass Veterans Memorial District's Community Hall, otherwise known as the Lion's or Scout Hut on School Street in Murphys. He wanted to do something to thank the past and currently military service people for there dedication to our country.....
