Murphys, CA.....The luck of the Irish will take on special meaning for one happy couple when they are transported from a gold rush town with Irish heritage to the fabled land of shamrocks and leprechauns as grand prize winners of the Win a Trip to Ireland raffle as part of this year’s Murphys Irish Day celebration. The prize includes round trip airfare to Dublin or Shannon, a rental car, hotel stay on arrival, and five nights in a variety of bed and breakfast locations sprinkled throughout the country. Murphys. CA....The Murphys Senior Center presents BIG BAND NIGHT IN MURPHYS....Featuring the Tradewinds Dance Band on March 4, 2011 from 6:30-10:00 at the Native Sons Hall, Murphys. DONATION: $50 per person. No Host Bar & Exceptional Hors d'oeuvres. FREE TAKE HOME PROFESSIONAL PORTRAIT. Please dress Casually Elegant for this First Class Affair. This is the only fundraiser for MSC, all proceeds fund the programs of the Murphys Senior Center.

| Murphys, CA...Come Rain, Sleet, Dark of Night the Murphys Library will open. We just got a note that the Murphys Library has opened today. "Murphys Library is open today (Friday) and will be open until 4 pm unless it starts snowing. BTW, the main library in San Andreas and most branches (including Murphys) now have free WiFi!" When I try one of Scott's wines for the first time, I close my eyes....and then smell and then taste. My mind is flooded with flavors that would be a perfect match and then I begin to concoct a recipe in my head. Widely recognized as one of the most creative chefs in the Calaveras region, Melanie now runs Newsome- Harlow’s tasting room and heads up the food program, designing pairing dinners that incorporate fresh, local ingredients to highlight her husband’s artisan wines. Melanie is also one of the top yoga teachers in the county.....
