San Andreas, CA...Need to Vote and don't know where to go? The complete list of polling locations for the county is enclosed. There have been a few changes since the last election cycle. Just click on the Calaveras County Banner below for the list. As in previous years, ThePineTree.net will offer "Live" election results this evening as the votes are tallied so stay tuned.....

"95 Masks", A look into A Child's Imagination....We Have Photos of All "95 Masks!" |

Murphys, CA....."95 Masks", an annual project of Teacher Mary Devany's art class at Avery Middle School. This class project is a wonderful way for the students to express themselves and possibly show others a glimpse of their inner identities. The Recpeption and showing of the masks started in Friday evening at the Art Gallery in Murphys and went through Sunday. Each year, the 6th graders from Avery Middle School get to work with Sharon Strong, owner of the Art Gallery in Murphys, making these beautiful masks expressing themselves and also writing a poem to go with each. They are then displayed at Murphys Art Gallery for three days for the community to enjoy. We stopped by on Friday for the Reception then again over the weekend to get a better look at each mask and what talent these kids have....

Murphys, CA...95 Masks returns to The Art Gallery in Murphys Tonight for an Art Show & Reception from 5:30 - 7:00pm. This is an annual project of Teacher Mary Devany's art class at Avery Middle School. San Andreas, CA...If you were looking for many of the "Powers That Be" yesterday afternoon one good place to find them was Classroom 3 at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital. It was another of the ongoing Economic Development meetings that have been spearheaded by the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce. Attending and participating were representatives from the Calaveras Board of Supervisors, Calaveras County Community Development Agency, Angels Camp City Council, Calaveras Visitors & Convention Bureau, Calaveras Business Council, Agricultural Groups, Community Groups & more...

Avery Middle School Band Receives Silver Rating at Forum Music Festival |

Avery, CA...The Avery Middle School Band made its debut on their band tour last Friday. The band director, Miss Patty Jo Struve, was very proud of her students as they received a silver rating from the judges at the Forum Music Festival. The performance was held at Ohlone College in Fremont. Judges told the students that they were in the top 20 percentile for bands across the United States. Music selections were carefully chosen by the director to both....
