Sacramento, CA...California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, leading a coalition of 16 states, have filed formal comments against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) rollback of refrigerant management regulations that grew out of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan. The regulations ensure the safe disposal and evacuation of refrigerants from appliances such industrial air conditioners and commercial cooling equipment, diligent record-keeping, the certification of technicians, appliance maintenance, and leak repair. Venting or releasing these refrigerants and their substitutes contribute to ozone depletion and climate change - among the most severe environmental threats faced by modern human civilization.

Sonora, CA...Contracting officials posted a pre-solicitation notice on the Federal Business Opportunity website for snow grooming on the Calaveras and Summit Ranger districts. The notice to vendors announces the forest’s plans to post a contracting solicitation on or about Nov. 15 that will remain open for 15 days. “We are in the middle of our Travel Management, subpart C planning effort and recognize how important snowmobiling is as a recreational opportunity on the forest. A system of groomed trails is vital to providing that opportunity in a safe and sustainable way,” said Beth Martinez, Public Services staff officer for the Stanislaus National Forest. “I encourage individuals and organized user groups and clubs to help spread the word regarding the need to groom our trails and the upcoming contracting opportunity. Prospective vendors can find instructions on FedBizOpps about how to request contract announcements and prepare their bids.”
