Arnold, CA...Ebbetts Pass Fire District Needs Your Help Deciding Their Future. December 11th at 6pm, Independence Hall in White Pines. EPFD is funded, in part, by two special taxes that enable us to provide top notch FIRE and EMS services. The first special tax was voted on and passed in 1998. This provided additional staffing as a paramedic within the District 24/7/365. The second was voter approved in 2004. Which funded extra staffing and one full-time, paramedic staffed ambulances and a second full-time staffed fire station.

Pasadena, CA...Mission controllers at NASA-JPL have received a signal from NASA’s InSight lander on the Mars surface via MarCO OR a beep from InSight’s X-band radio. In the coming hours, engineers will be checking on the spacecraft’s health. A post-landing news briefing expected at 2 p.m. PST (5 p.m. EST).
Washington, DC...The United States expresses its deep concern over the incident in the Black Sea that occurred November 25 as Ukrainian vessels attempted to transit through the Kerch Strait. Reports that Russian vessels rammed and fired on the Ukrainian ships, injuring Ukrainian crewmen, before seizing three vessels, represent a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law.

Bogota, Columbia....The first phase of the USNS Comfort hospital ship mission in Turbo finished yesterday after assisting 5,450 patients and performing 131 surgeries. The mission will continue in Riohacha as of November 26. In the five days of the mission in Turbo, USNS Comfort staff and their allies attended a total of 5,450 patients and performed 131 surgeries. The Hospital Comfort Ship is now heading to Riohacha where it will pay attention during the days November 26 to 30, once it finishes its mission in Colombia it will depart to Honduras.
