San Andreas, CA....Our Board of Supervisors are meeting Tuesday morning at 9am. They have a busy agenda planned, some of the items include a Resolution Item authorizing the execution of a notice of completion and acceptance of the County Airport Improvements Projects with Granite Construction as the obligated contractor as complete; RESOLUTION to summarily vacate public utility and drainage easements in Lot 101, Lake Tulloch Shores Subdivision; Public Works/Surveyor; 5.RESOLUTION transferring the management and fiscal administration of the Prevent Child Abuse Council Calaveras from the Calaveras Works and Human Services Agency to the First 5 Calaveras, effective April 1, 2008, and for the Auditor to adjust the books of record accordingly; Review and possible action to implement recommendations regarding legal access requirements for building permits, including adoption of a resolution of intention to amend Title 17 (Zoning) of the Calaveras County Code; Community Development Agency. Highway 108 Snowmobile Access to Temporarily Close

Sonora, CA…The Forest Service today announced that beginning March 24th through March 28, CalTrans will start its normal seasonal snow plowing on Highway 108. Buring the time required for this snow plowing operation, Highway 108 will be temporarily closed to all vehicles, including snowmobiles, from the Sno-Park gate to Sonora Pass. Once the road is open to Eagle Meadow Road (5N01), snowmobiles will be able to access riding opportunities into the Eagle Meadow area, while snow conditions allow. Highway 108....

Countywide Development of Sharps Collection System

Calaveras County, CA....Improperly disposed syringes are a public health risk and, in the waste stream, these and other “sharps” pose a hazard to solid waste workers. To address this concern, Senate Bill 1305 was signed into law in July 2006, banning the disposal of “sharps” such as hypodermic needles and lancets, in the trash after September 1, 2008, including home-generated sharps......

Veterans and Citizens Turn Out to Support Our Troops

Angels Camp, CA....Veterans and Citizens from throughout Calaveras County showed their support for ur troops today as this is the 5 year Anniversary of the Iraq War. The decorated the corner of Murphys Grade Road and Hwy 49 with flags, banners and signs asking people to "honk in support of our troops." The sounds of horns filled the air for a god portion of the day. When we stopped by we spoke with Suzette Glanville, one of the the supporters, who has a son was in the first wave to enter Baghdad and is currently serving in the Middle East right now....

The will start off the meeting with a Minute Order authorizing Wilensky to sign a a letter supporting Senate Bill 1139 designating Rail Road Flat Elementary School to be a necessary small school; There will also be some Resolution Items regarding the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office and the USDA for to enter into a 2008 Operating and Financial Plan for Suppression of controlled Substances and a Resolution Item for Law Enforcement Services; There will be a Minute Order authorizing Board Chair to sign an agreement with Mark Twain S. City of Angels Camp City Council Will Be Busy Bee's on Tuesday

The Angels Camp City Council will be busy bee's on Tuesday, March 18th. First they will meet at 2:30pm at the Board of Supervisor's Chambers for a Study Session. This will be a Presentation/Discussion with the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce on Economic Development. They will then adjourn and meet up again at the Fire House in Angels Camp for their regular meeting at 6pm where they will discuss RESOLUTION NO. 08-10 OPPOSING THE ADDITION OF TWO NEW SEATS ON THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION (LAFCO). APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 08-10. A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION OF ADDING TWO ADDITIONAL SEATS ON LAFCO; UPDATE ON NEW MELONES FEES. The full agenda is enclosed for your viewing pleasure.....
