London, UK...The First Lady and the President arrived in London, England on Thursday afternoon. They were greeted by United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Woody Johnson; Lord-Lieutenant of Essex, Jennifer Tolhurst; Secretary of State for International Trade, The Right Honorable Liam Fox; and Chief Executive Officer of the Stansted Limited Airport, Brad Miller. The First Lady joined her husband in a meet and greet with United States Embassy staff and their families at Winfield House in London. In the evening, the First Lady and the President met British Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband, Philip May, and participated in an arrival ceremony at Blenheim Palace followed by a tour of the Winston Churchill exhibition. Mrs. Trump and the President then attended a gala dinner in the Long Library at Blenheim Palace.

Mexico City, MX...Today Secretary Pompeo met with President-elect of Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador at the office of the MORENA political party in Mexico City, Mexico. Secretary Pompeo congratulated Mr. Lopez Obrador on his July 1 victory and said the United States looks forward to working with Mr. Lopez Obrador and his cabinet after inauguration on December 1.

Mexico City, MX...Today Secretary Pompeo met with the President of Mexico Enrique Pena Nieto at the Mexican presidential palace, Los Pinos, in Mexico City, Mexico. Secretary Pompeo reaffirmed the United States’ continued commitment to working with Mexico to enhance our shared security by disrupting transnational criminal organizations. The two leaders discussed the need to reach a modernized and rebalanced North American Free Trade Agreement and to continue close bilateral cooperation on counternarcotics and irregular migration. The Secretary also commended President Pena Nieto for his leadership in ensuring an orderly transition period before the December 1 inauguration of the president-elect.

Grand Jury Indicts 12 Russian Intelligence Officers for Hacking Offenses Related to the 2016 Election

Washington, DC...The Department of Justice today announced that a grand jury in the District of Columbia returned an indictment presented by the Special Counsel’s Office. The indictment charges twelve Russian nationals for committing federal crimes that were intended to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election. All twelve defendants are members of the GRU, a Russian Federation intelligence agency within the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian military. These GRU officers, in their official capacities, engaged in a sustained effort to hack into the computer networks of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee, and the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, and released that information on the internet under the names "DCLeaks" and "Guccifer 2.0" and through another entity.

For years, Presidents have been coming to these meetings and talked about the expense — the tremendous expense for the United States. Q Mr. President, which countries did you want to spend more on NATO in particular? PRESIDENT TRUMP: Just look at the chart. Take a look at the chart. It’s public. And many countries are not paying what they should. And, frankly, many countries owe us a tremendous amount of money for many years back, where they’re delinquent, as far as I’m concerned, because the United States has had to pay for them. So if you go back 10 or 20 years, you’ll just add it all up. It’s massive amounts of money is owed. The United States has paid and stepped up like nobody. This has gone on for decades, by the way. This has gone on for many Presidents. But no other President brought it up like I bring it up. So something has to be done, and the Secretary General has been working on it very hard.

Washington, DC....Today, President Donald J. Trump signed Executive Grants of Clemency (Full Pardons) for Dwight Lincoln Hammond, Jr., and his son, Steven Hammond. The Hammonds are multi-generation cattle ranchers in Oregon imprisoned in connection with a fire that leaked onto a small portion of neighboring public grazing land. The evidence at trial regarding the Hammonds’ responsibility for the fire was conflicting, and the jury acquitted them on most of the charges.
