Sacramento, CA...California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today released a statement following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to deny a petition for certiorari in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) lawsuit led by California and instead allow the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to rule on the case. “Today the Supreme Court denied the federal government’s unusual and unnecessary request to bypass the Appeals Court review of our DACA lawsuit,” said Attorney General Becerra. “We look forward to explaining to the Ninth Circuit court that DACA is fully legal. For the sake of the Dreamers who help make our economy and our state strong, the rescission of DACA should not be allowed to stand.”

I also want to say that it’s an honor to have so many of our tremendously talented governors with us. This is a yearly tradition, and our crowd gets a little bit larger every year. The governors — we’re going to have a lot of meetings tomorrow. We’re going to have some very important meetings. We’ll be talking about Parkland and the horrible event that took place last week.
Calaveras Transit Bus Involved in Non-Injury Incident

Murphys, CA...At approximately 12:45 p.m. a Calaveras Transit bus slid off of Highway 4 near Forest Meadows. There were no injuries and no passengers on board at the time of the incident with minimal damage to the vehicle. Due to the continuing inclement weather and dangerous road conditions, Calaveras Transit has suspended Service to Arnold (Blue Line) until further notice.

Washington, DC...Hello, everybody. Today, the Treasury Department is announcing the largest set of sanctions ever imposed in connection with North Korea. This action targets the deceptive shipping practices that have enabled the Kim regime to fund its dangerous weapons programs. Our actions target shipping and trade companies, vessels, and individuals across the world who we know are working with North Korea’s behalf. Specifically, we are sanctioning 27 entities, 28 vessels, and 1 individual, all involved in sanctions evasions schemes.
