Sacramento, CA...From Cal OES...Firefighters began battling multiple wildfires on October 9 in numerous counties across the entire state, prompting mass evacuations. Thousands of acres burned and threatened infrastructure as strong winds fueled the fast-moving fires. Sacramento, CA...California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Director Mark Ghilarducci today secured three additional Fire Management Assistance Grants (FMAG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help ensure the availability of vital resources to suppress wildfires burning in Lake, Orange and Napa counties. The FMAGs also enable local, state and tribal agencies to recover eligible costs.

Brown Jr. today issued an emergency proclamation for Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties due to the effects of multiple fires, including the Tubbs and Atlas fires, which have damaged critical infrastructure, threatened thousands of homes and caused the evacuation of residents.
