Washington, DC...On December 9, 2016, President Barack Obama directed the Intelligence Community to conduct a full review and produce a comprehensive intelligence report assessing Russian activities and intentions in recent U.S. elections. We have completed this report and briefed President Obama as well as President-elect Trump and Congressional leadership. We declassified a version of this report for the public, consistent with our commitment to transparency while still protecting classified sources and methods.

Sacramento, CA...The Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) announced today the reorganization of the Governmental Affairs division, resulting in the promotion of Paul A. Smith to Vice President of Governmental Affairs, Justin Caporusso to Vice President of External Affairs and Administration, and Mary-Ann Warmerdam to Senior Legislative Advocate. This newly formed leadership team will direct the RCRC Governmental Affairs staff in advocating on behalf of RCRC’s 35 rural California member counties. Mr. Smith and Mr. Caporusso will join Greg Norton, President and CEO, Craig Ferguson, Vice President, and Lisa McCargar, Chief Financial Officer on RCRC’s Executive Leadership Team.

Just eight years ago, as I prepared to take office, our economy teetered on the brink of depression. Nearly 800,000 Americans were losing their jobs each month. In some communities, nearly one in five folks were out of work. Almost 180,000 troops were serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Osama bin Laden was still at large. And on challenges from health care to climate change, we’d been kicking the can down the road for way too long.
