Angels Camp, CA...Yesterday afternoon parking circle at Bret Harte on Murphys Grade Road started filling up about 3pm. Parents and friends were gathering to welcome home the victorious State Champion Bret Harte FFA team. The took first place in Poultry, Floriculture and second place in Dairy. It was another great year for the Bret Harte Agriculture program led by Roy Beck. The victorious Floral team was Heather Kirkendall, Marissa Gzell, Melissa Spence and Jessica Jensen. The Poultry Team was Kelsey Lowe, Haley Warner, Elaine Jordan, Lauren Young and alternate Megan Yoder...
Angels Camp, CA...A 58 year old San Mateo resident Michael R. Seright lost his life in a motorcycle accident yesterday afternoon on Hwy 4 near Pool Station Road. Mr. Seright was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson on Hwy 4 East of Pool Station at approximately 55 mph. The collision occurred when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle traveled off the roadway and down ann embankment . The Harley subsequently collided with a barbed wire fence and came to rest in a field, south of Hwy 4....

The EPYSL U14 Girls Competitive Team Now Forming...Tryouts Tomorrow,
Saturday May 5th at Bret Harte High School, 1:00-3:00. This team welcomes girl soccer players from the greater Calaveras and Ebbetts Pass areas. The season runs August through November and may include some tournament play. Girls eligible must be under 14 years of age on or before July 31st. Younger girls wishing to participate are also encouraged to try out and will be selected for the team based on ability.....
