Angels Camp, CA...Frogtown..The Ag Awareness Day for 2012 was Thursday, March 15th, 2012 at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. The fun and educational event, was free to all 4th and 5th graders in the Calaveras County. This is a wonderful annual event sponsored by the Calaveras County Farm Bureau. Also this year Justice Rasmussen helped spearhead the event as his senior project. 26 different exhibitors showcased their areas of expertise. One central exhibit this year was a dairy exhibition featuring a real life producing dairy cow....

Bret Harte Girls Soccer: Varsity draws with Linden in a tight match, another victory for JV |

Angels Camp, CA...Bret Harte JV defeats Linden JV 3-1. Goals by Sam Crabtree, Haley Rizzi and Sarah Wilson. Bret Harte JV had good control as they took on Linden on Thursday afternoon. The clouds parted as the whistle blew, allowing the teams to battle with nothing more than a short sprinkle in the second half. Bret Harte got on the board first with a goal from Sam Crabtree, assisted by a beautiful through ball from Jennifer Munoz. Linden came back with a goal of their own, tying it up 1-1. As the second half opened up, Marissa Menzes made a solo run from the backfield moving the ball past several Linden players and laid a perfect ball to Sarah Wilson for goal number two. Haley Rizzi knocked the final goal to the back of the net to give Bret Harte some breathing room in the final minutes of the game....

Angels Camp, CA...We have over 70 photos and video coming soon of the sobering presentation of an Every 15 Minutes program Thursday morning at Bret Harte High School It was a multi agency staged fatal accident scene. The entire Bret Hart student body was released and watching the reenactment of the teenager driving DUI fatality....

Homeowner’s Association Employee Arrested for Embezzlement of Over $25,000 |

| Copperopolis/Angels Camp, CA... On November 8, 2011 Calaveras Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to take a report of embezzlement from the Copper Cove Homeowner’s Association (CCHA). The investigation was initiated after a CCHA internal audit revealed that substantial funds in the account were unaccounted for. It was alleged that throughout 2011 Heather Kathleen Vannatta (38) of Angels Camp, the association’s payroll/accounting employee, embezzled over $2,400 in fuel and over $4000.00 in goods from local businesses using the association’s credit cards and/or business accounts. She also allegedly over-paid her salary in excess of $18,000.00... |

Angels Camp, CA...A mere few days before the frogs jump competitively in Angels Camp, there will be a number of humans swimming, biking, and running competitively in the same fabled town, at the 20th Annual Angels Camp Triathlon. Internationally known for its Frog Jumping Contest, made famous by author Mark Twain, historic Angels Camp, Calif., is also the home of this very popular triathlon, which will take place on Sunday, May 13, 2012 (Mothers’ Day), at 8:30 a.m., at the beautiful New Melones Reservoir....
