Angels Camp, CA....Spend a beautiful day at Greenhorn Creek shopping for unique handcrafted items for the holidays, The Calaveras County Garden Club is sponsoring a Holiday Craft Faire on Saturday November 20th, 2010, from 10am~4pm. Enjoy quilts made by Greenhorn Creek Quilters. Discover handcrafted items by local artisans. Lunch will be available at CAMPS. There will also be a Raffle Drawing. Vendors wishing to participate can contact Sherri Smith at 736~8197 or Suzy Voss at 736~8008.

Angels Camp, CA...In keeping with the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum Day events on Saturday, September 25th, the Angels Camp Museum, 753 South Main Street, Angels Camp, will admit two persons for the price of one, with children admitted free. Recent changes at the Museum include the installation of the Mark Twain Exhibit, Hogarth Five-Stamp Gold Mill, the Paul Raggio Fountain, and the beginnings of the Geology and Mining exhibits. In addition, the Carriage House exhibits over 30 pieces of historic rolling stock, as well as other related artifacts. ....

Angels Camp, CA...Representatives from the Calaveras Visitors Center and City of Angels Camp met yesterday to start working on getting a new lease for the Visitors Center in place. The City has offered to lower the proposed rent from $2,000 to $1,139.40 per month. The City has also given the CVB an extension of it's current lease until November 1st of this year while the parties negotiate...

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Police Department is working in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, by participating in the first-ever prescription drug take-back day. DEA will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction at sites nationwide on Saturday, September 25th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Many Americans are not aware that medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are increasing at alarming rates, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. Angels Camp, CA...A good sized crowd was on hand in Utica Park for the Local Tea Party Event sponsored by Campaign for Liberty & The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association. As the Tea Party movement enters the mainstream in national politics so it has here locally as well. With Tea Party backed candidates doing well nationally and with both the Democrat and especially the Republican Party awakening to the fact that they need to reflect the views of their constituents or face party exodus.
