Angels Camp, CA...A good sized crowd was on hand in Utica Park for the Local Tea Party Event sponsored by Campaign for Liberty & The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association. As the Tea Party movement enters the mainstream in national politics so it has here locally as well. With Tea Party backed candidates doing well nationally and with both the Democrat and especially the Republican Party awakening to the fact that they need to reflect the views of their constituents or face party exodus. Tea Parties are riding high heading into the Mid-Term Elections in November...

42 Year Old San Andreas Resident, Jodi Jackson Loses Her Life in Hwy 49 Collision Last Night

Angels Camp, CA...42 year old Jodi Jackson was driving her 2007 Chevrolet in the Southbound traffic lane of Hwy 49 at approximately 55mph. A 52 year old San Andreas Women was driving her 2003 F150 in the Northbound lane at approximately 60mph. When Jackson for some unknown reason, momentarily applied her brakes forcefully without steering input. She then released the brake and swerved to the right extreme of the lane. Her Chevrolet then swerved back to the left and entered the Northbound traffic lane. The driver of the second vehicle observed her entering her lane and was unable to take evasive action....

Mary Gauthier, M.D. has joined the active medical staff at Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital and will practice general medicine at the Family Medical Center in Angels Camp, specializing in Women’s Medicine. Dr. Gauthier will be treating the adolescent through geriatric population for the full spectrum of medical concerns. Dr. Gauthier completed her Family Practice Residency at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia. She obtained her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine with honors in Geriatrics, Pathology, .....

Angels Camp, CA....Emergency crews are responding to a traffic accident at Hwy 49 and Deer Creek Road in Angels Camp. Two parties involved. One party walking around. One may have serious injuries as it is a possible pin-in. Jaws of life and Mediflight have been ordered. Please travel with caution in the area. More to follow.....UPDATE 6:41pm. Some very sad news....Possible solo Fatality involved. Update 7:18pm: Lanes to be blocked at least another 20 minutes or so. More to follow as we receive.

Angels Camp, CA...Friday night was a special night in Angels Camp for the first home football game of the 2010 season. The team came out fired up and ready to play. The Bullfrogs played to a convincing win over visiting Denair. The night was also featured a special half-time show dedicated to honoring fallen Marine and former Bullfrog Gavin Brummund. The Bureau of Reclamation’s New Melones Lake will host an oak tree planting event at on National Public Lands Day (NPLD), Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. New Melones Lake is located northwest of Sonora, California. The public, organizations, and local businesses are invited to participate. The NPLD is the Nation’s largest annual hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the Nation’s public lands. In celebration, New Melones Lake will also be waiving the $6.00 Day Use fee for all visitors....
