Angels Camp, CA...Friday night was a special night in Angels Camp for the first home football game of the 2010 season. The team came out fired up and ready to play. The Bullfrogs played to a convincing win over visiting Denair. The night was also featured a special half-time show dedicated to honoring fallen Marine and former Bullfrog Gavin Brummund. The Bureau of Reclamation’s New Melones Lake will host an oak tree planting event at on National Public Lands Day (NPLD), Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. New Melones Lake is located northwest of Sonora, California. The public, organizations, and local businesses are invited to participate. The NPLD is the Nation’s largest annual hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the Nation’s public lands. In celebration, New Melones Lake will also be waiving the $6.00 Day Use fee for all visitors....

She left behind her daughter Melissa and her son Isiah Martinez. Isiah is my age and he is also one of my closest friends. Angels Camp, CA....The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is now taking applications for members of the community to serve on the Frog Jump Committee’s seven member executive board. The FJC functions as an advisory group to the Fair’s Board of Directors. The FJC currently has one vacancy. The group’s primary functions are to produce the annual event, preserve the history of the Frog Jump and insure the health and welfare of our frogs. Applications are available at the fairground’s administration office. The deadline for consideration is Sept. 30, 2010....

Angels Camp, CA...Multiple crews are responding to a possible structure fire in the area of a water heater at Mountain View and Sonora Street in Angels Camp. Update 8:14am: Fire is out at this time, response is being canceled.

Angels Camp, CA...Last Thursday night Camps at Greenhorn Creek, music filled that air from a young new local group playing in what was their first public concert. They don't have a name yet so this being Angels Camp home of all things frog related,. we dubbed them the "Jazz Hoppers". Regardless of whatever name they choose it is great to see local young musicians stepping up to the mic. They are also very talented and were receiving much applause from the diners at CAMPS. So to Trenard, Keno, Johnny & Nate good luck in your musical endeavors and be sure to check them out!

Angels Camp, CA....Shawn started the church, REFUGE, in 2008 with his wife of 18 years, Connie. After 15 years as the youth Pastor for Calvary chapel in Sonora, they felt like God was calling them to lead a church. They originally started as a bible study at the Golden State cellular office, they moved to various locations including Glory hole center before landing at their new home on Murphys Grade rd, the former Church of the Nazarene. Their Church has grown from about 20 people in 2008 to over 100 today. They have started a program called "As you see fit clothing .....
