Summit Road in Angels Camp is CLOSED Due to an Over Turned Big-Rig. (Update...Road Reopened at @ 8:30pm)

Posted by: Hanna_Alldrin on 08/25/2008 04:39 PM
Angels Camp, CA....Units are responding to a jack knifed big-rig on the 1600 section of Summit Road in Angels Camp. The big-rig seems to be blocking the road. The rig possibly hit a gas line, but unknown at this time. UPDATE #1: Engine 211, 210A, and 4472 are on scene now. It seams to be a large tractor trailer full of lumber that has blocked the road. Summit Road is CLOSED and CHP is directing traffic, please use alternate routes. UPDATE #2: According to Chief 210A, "the truck if full of lumber such as 2x4's and plywood." The diver of the truck took Summit Road because his Garmin navigation system directed him to. With Summit Road being narrow the truck was unable to make a correct turn and jack knifed the back end of the trailer. The truck did not hit a gas line and no injuries have been reported. Units will continue to stay on scene until tow trucks remove the rig from the side of the road. The road will continue to stay closed until the removal of the truck, the estimated time in unknown.
