Angels Camp, CA....Boaters flooded New Melones Lake this Labor Day Holiday weekend. On Sunday alone there were reports of over 213 boats launched into the lake from the Glory Hole boat ramp. The Tuttletown launch was not reported, but rangers suspect over 400 boats launched into the warm water this afternoon. At 6pm this evening there were over 30 boats trying to dock at the same time, the boat launch was so busy that they had two rangers directing traffic.......

The Bret Harte football season won't be in full swing for another few weeks, but for those of you who couldn't wait any longer, Saturday provided a hearty appetizer of what's to come. The Bret Harte football teams competed in the annual "Purple and Gold" scrimmage......

Road Work Scheduled for Week of September 2nd~September 5, 2008 in Calaveras County

Calaveras County, CA....The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have one-way traffic control on State Route 49 from just north of Carol Kennedy Drive to the Calaveras Cement Company in Calaveras County. Work will begin on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, through Friday, September 5, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Crews will be treating the bridge deck. Motorists should expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.....

Angels Murphys Lions Presented $8,000 to The Logging Museum & Bret Hart Sports Complex Thursday Evening ~ By John Hamilton Video Enclosed

Murphys, CA....The Angels Murphys Lions Club held a special meeting tonight to honor the Logging Museum in White Pines and the new Sports Complex in Angels Camp as the beneficiaries of their fundraising efforts. The majority of the funds given away tonight were received from the recent 1st Annual Car Show they hosted at the new Bret Harte Sports Complex a couple months back. Presenting the donations tonight was Lions President Paul Turounet. The Logging Museum was represented by John Hofstetter and received a check for $3,000 to benefit the Museum. Tony Tyrell & Theresa Locke were on hand to accept $5,000 for the Bret Hart Sports Complex...

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce held their August Mixer at Foothill Village in Angels Camp last night. Foothill was filled with Grub, Grog, Mixing and Mingling. Foothill Village was a great host business this month! Everyone seemed to have a good time and the business cards were flying...
