Greetings from San Diego...Looking down upon the faded green tops of the swaying palm trees set against the deep blue ocean, the sunlight dancing on the crest of the rolling waves my plane rapidly descending over the fleet of gigantic white cruise ships with their colorful flags flying in the midmorning breeze, as some were embarking on their ventures at sea being escorted by tug boats, my excitement increasing as each object became larger and larger until I finally felt the wheels hit the runway....

Angels Camp Receives Snow Last Night

Angels Camp, CA... Last night a major drop in temperature brought a light dusting of snow to Angels Camp, elevation 1,378'. Due to the low snow, local schools are calling for a two hour late start. These schools include: Bret Harte High School, Mark Twain Elementary and all VUSD schools.

Stolen Property Recovered and "Mystery Man" Booked! By John Hamilton

San Andreas, CA...Some Vallecito Residents will be getting their property back soon thanks to the Calaveras County Sheriffs Department. The suspect is in jail now for possession of stolen property with more charges to follow. Deputy Robert Huffman apprehended the suspect at approximately 7:30am this morning. The robbery occurred yesterday afternoon. The residents were away for a couple of hours and returned home to evidence of a burglary....

Angels Camp, CA...We had the pleasure of dining with one of our favorite local Chef's, Jenny Baxter, for our monthly dinner. This month she and the Hamilton boys prepared "Ranch Dip" from scratch. Our family always enjoy our time with Jenny as she is the hostess with the mostess...and a great friend also! She is quite friendly, very humorous and really knows how to put on a spread! For dinner she served us...

Murphys, CA...Murphys Grade Road was closed and traffic detoured on French Gulch Road until 1pm. There were no serious injuries involved. There were however minor injuries to some passengers and the driver of the pickup sustained a fractured right wrist. The injuried parties were taken to MTSJ Hospital. Apparently the driver of the pickup lost control and hit the front left side of the school bus. There is a larger picture enclosed. The students...

Angels Camp, CA...High school sweethearts Erik Alldrin and Hanna Heath recently got engaged when Erik proposed in Yosemite National Park. Erik and Hanna plan on having a Spring wedding at the Utica Mansion in Angels Camp on May 31st, 2008. After their wedding the new wed couple will travel to Playa Del Carmen Mexico and spend their first days as husband and wife on a beautiful white sand beach.
