Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 2,302,916 acre-feet of water. The lake level dropped two feet this week and is currently at 1078 ft. above sea level and 10 ft. from full. Water temperature is 80-83 degrees. Water is green-stained (lots of plankton- a good thing!) with strong mud lines near shore. Watch for floating debris and unmarked island tops....

Angels Camp, CA....Last night was the opening performance of "Hercules" at the Bret Harte Theater. Epic...Strong...Classical...Funny...you don't want to miss this one. Angels Camp, CA...Studio 4 Dance Theater, a local Non-Profit, will be kicking up their heels for the 2nd “National Dance Day” on Saturday, July 30th during their annual fundraiser car wash. National Dance Day was created by the Dizzy Feet Foundation to generate national awareness for dance. The dance troupe will perform every hour, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Bret Harte High School Theater’s parking lot. The car wash proceeds.....

The City of Angels is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant Todd Fordahl, age 43 to the position of Chief of Police effective July 19, 2011. Todd has 14 years of overall law enforcement experience serving mostly with the City of Angels Police Department. He has 7 years experience as a Sergeant and has held the position of Interim Chief of Police since April, 2010. Todd has the support of his department, City Administration and City Council and is committed to managing the Police Department in an efficient and cost effective manner......
