For productive plants and quality vegetables, take time now to plan the layout and design of home vegetable gardens before tilling the soil. Choosing an appropriate site for planting depends on the number of family members consuming the produce, how much time the gardener has to care for plants and available yard space. If possible, plan to plant an extra few rows and donate the produce to the food bank....

On Saturday, February 28th something BIG will be happening at Tuolumne County Ambulance & Fire Administration building. No, it’s not a fire drill! The Foothill Collaborative for Sustainability (FoCuS) is joining forces with Tuolumne County Master Gardeners to sponsor a Seed and Gardening Book Exchange. Anyone interested in starting a vegetable garden this Spring should attend. If you have seeds you’ve saved, extra seeds you’ve purchased and can share, or if you just want to come and pick up some seeds to start a garden and try some interesting varieties, everyone is welcome. Master.....
