Hey Good People!! Bear Valley Snow Report & Update By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/07/2019 12:13 PM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! The system had a split element to it yesterday and overnight and produced less than anticipated. 8″ of new snow overnight, 15″ in 24hr and 28″ for the current storm total. Today as the current wave passes through we might see 1-2″ more yet winds will lower a bit into the teens with some gusts as high as 30mph. Snow returns Tuesday will elevations rising to 6500-7000′ then lowering as it makes it’s exit late Wednesday. Unsettled weather will stick around with possible snow shower activity through the week and another system returns for the next weekend. More on the that system in a few days as the models are varying at this time. It’s time for some POW riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.

Hey Good People!! This Storm Has Brought 13 Inches of Fresh Powder So Far to Bear Valley! ~ Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/06/2019 09:33 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! The current system is dropping good amounts of new snow in the Sierra. We picked up 10″ overnight as of 4am and 13″ so far for the storm total. Wind values have been a little less overnight but redistribution on the hill will give way to some deeper totals today and through tomorrow. Breezy conditions will continue today with a South wind from 20-26mph with gusts upwards of 40mph. 10-16″ of new snow is still expected to fall today and tonight a possible whopping 14-20″ as the system digs in and pulls good moisture off of the Pacific. Surface gradients will increase and winds could see the 50mph range later tonight. Unsettled snowy weather will continue through the week and into next weekend with Tuesday and Wednesday squeaking out another foot of snow possibly. We’ll see a rise in snowfall elevations by late Monday up to 6000′. It’s time for some POW riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.

Hey Good People!! Fresh Bear Valley Snow on the Way! Come Up & Play!! ~ Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/05/2019 10:56 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Things are ramping up for today as the current storm system approaches. It’s 31F at 5am and stars can still be seen outside currently. Timing of the approaching system looks to be around 9am or so then winds will kick in out of the South from 20-30mph with gusts into the 40’s. With wind values in excess of 20mph through this storm cycle please dress appropriately. 10-16″ of new snow could fall today and those totals surely will seem higher in some aspects of the Mtn caused by wind loading. Tonight 10-14″ is expected and will continue with another 6-10″ during the day Sunday and 10-14″ Sunday night before rounding out with 1-3″ on Monday as the storm heads East. The lull slated for late Monday into Wednesday has now turned into snow showers and snow through the week so we’ve got that going for us. Cold air initially will have snow levels around 6K and dropping to around 3500′ by Sunday and the warm tail of the system is now starting to stay a bit colder so rain is now out of the mix. I’ve been talking about the storm door opening for January around the 6th and well, things are looking good. As always, we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun”.

Hey Good People! Over Two Feet on New Powder on Tap for Bear Valley!!

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/04/2019 07:46 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Friday arrives with a warm morning temp of 35F at 5am. Mostly sunny today with a high of 41F and SSW winds from 6-10mph. A slight chance of snow is expected tonight and winds will increase ahead of the coming storm. So……what’s in the forecast you ask. Saturday looks like we’ll pick up 10-16″ of new snow during the day, 8-12″ Saturday night, 2-4″ during the day Sunday and another 5-9″ Sunday night!!!!!! The freezing level initially will be 7000′ so snowfall elevations should start at around 6000′ and drop to around 5000′ and maybe a bit lower as the system unfolds. 25-41″ looks very possible by Monday morning! It’s gonna be a pow riding weekend my friends! The next wave of storms looks to arrive by Wednesday and the models are agreeing and the results could be the same as this weekend but look to be a bit more at this time. I’ve been talking about the storm door opening for January around the 6th and well, things are looking good. As always, we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun”.
