Murphys, CA...Christmas Day brings a 34-year Calaveras tradition, a free community dinner hosted by Murphys Friends. December 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall on Main Street in Murphys, it will be turkey with all the trimmings, and gifts for the young people. This tradition started in 1983 at the Utica Hotel in Angels Camp by Bob Bach, Richard Wilmshurst, Alan Corell and Renee Weaver Saletta. It now has about 40 volunteers, some who have been doing this for years.

Bear Valley, CA...Based on current conditions and weather outlook, our operations team has determined that we will not be able to open lifts/trails for this weekend, December 16th and 17th. At this time, we continue to make snow and crossing our fingers that we continue to get longer periods of cold temps for ideal snowmaking conditions.
