Murphys, CA...July 2015 -- Charlie Anderson and his daughters Ana and Avery proudly announce the opening of Woodcraft Gallery in downtown Murphys, CA. The show room features Live Edge furniture, Live Edge lumber and woodcraft, and art and handcrafted items by other local artists. Hours are 10am to 4pm Thursday through Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday.)

Bear Valley, CA...New attractions and Enhancements to Bear Valley Village and the Ski area are underway. Adventure Park in the Village, Bear Valley has begun installation of a Bungy trampoline and ropes challenge course. Ropes course is now open and Bungy will open pending completed state inspection - projected opening is Saturday July 11th. Store Hours are 9am-6pm, Attractions are open 11am-6pm thur-monday. Other additions include a new beginner mountain bike trail accessible just outside the Bear Valley Lodge. For information visit REBA sports.

West Point, CA...Lumberjack Day! This West Point Logging celebration is scheduled for the 41st year on Saturday, October 3rd. This year’s theme is “Let Freedom Ring!” and the Ladies of the VFW #832 are the Grand Marshals! As always the event will bring fun, family, food, fast cars, familiar faces, handmade finery, floats, fabulous music and phenomenal flying sawdust (go logging competition!) to the forefront! Angels Camp, CA...Stop by the Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store/Cat Adoption Center in Angels Camp, located in Angels Town Center at 240 S. Main St./Hwy 49. Summer hours for the Angels Camp Adoption Center are Thurs/Fri, 10 am–5 pm, and Saturday, 11 am–5pm. This week, in addition to BRAD & ANGIE, we will have several other guest cats from Calaveras County Animal Services who will be available for adoption through CHS. As always, we will also have kitties available at our Arnold Adoption Center, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market, open Thurs.-Sat., 10am to 5pm. If it's young kittens you're interested in, the Arnold Adoption Center is the place to go this week. Come in to one or both adoption centers and meet some wonderful felines with varied personalities! If you're a cat lover, you might find one or more that is just right for you.
