Calaveras and Tuolumne County, CA....A FIRE WEATHER WATCH is in effect for this weekend, Friday through Sunday, as a weather system moves through the area from the southwest. Possibility exists for thunderstorms. Subtropical air will move into the area bringing instability, winds and increased chances of thunderstorms and lightning. According to CAL Fire Tuolumne Calaveras Units, our areas are preparing for this Saturday and Sunday due to predicted Lighting storms. Please everyone be careful and use extra caution.

FIRE NEWS..... 8 Acre Vegetation Fire on 28 Mill Road...Contained |

Stanislaus County, CA.....A vegetation is being reported at 28 Mile Road and Sonora Road. Calaveras and Tolumnue units are in route. At this time the fire is reported to be 8 acres in size. Engines 4462, 623, 4471, 4458, 4473, 593, 4474, 4442, 4445, and all Columbia air craft are heading to the fire now! UPDATE 1: The fire is now contained.

Murphys, CA....CAL Fire is stating the cause of the small 1/2 acre grass fire at 1969 Hwy 4 in Murphys on Wednesday is under investigation. No injuries reported. Full CAL Fire report enclosed....

There is a grass fire being reported at 1969 Hwy 4. Personnel are being dispatched on scene now. Update 4:53pm...It may already be contained according to spectators on scene. Update 5:10pm....Confirmed Contained. Thank You!

Sacramento, CA...Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has directed the California National Guard and all state firefighting resources to aggressively combat numerous wildfires across California. Today he was briefed on the Wild Fire incident and the status of firefighting efforts statewide at the Lagoon Valley Regional Park in Fairfield, the base camp for the Wild Fire incident in Napa and Solano Counties....

Sonora, CA....A structure fire occurred at 20556 Flora Lane in Sonora on Monday in Tuolumne County. The fire damaged a sliding door and deck. Estimated dollar damage is $1,000. Cause is under investigation. See Full CAL Fire report enclosed....
