Burson, CA....CAL Fire reported and escaped debris burn at 3486 Davis Drive in Burson on Sunday at 11:06am. The fire was contained to 1 acre vegetation only. No dollar damage or injuries reported. Full CAL Fire report enclosed.....

Another Escaped Debris Burn Today....This Time in Mountain Ranch.

Mountain Ranch, CA...When we spoke with CAL-FIRE's Lisa Williams a few minutes ago she wanted us to stress that when you have a debris pile burning you are supposed to have a 10 foot perimeter down to the dirt around the fire and are supposed to man the fire at all times as well. The Mountain Ranch Blaze was about two acres in size and had two state and two local engines and helicopter 404 even made an appearance...

Burn Permits Required as of May 1st, 2008~By Lisa Williams

San Andreas – On Thursday, May 1, 2008 burn permits will be required within Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Conditions are volatile in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties and both counties have experienced high, gusty winds on a regular basis this year, more than in previous years. The combination of low fuel moistures and high winds generally leads to an increased number of debris burn escapes. These escaped debris burns threaten lives, property and forest resources. Currently, live fuel moistures are approximately 30% lower than this time last year with 15% less rainfall then our 5 year average for this time of....

Cold Springs, CA…..There has been a large fire reported in Cold Springs in Tuolumne County. First personnel on scene stated, fire is now 2 acres with 40 mile an hour winds, and structures threatened. A large column of smoke can be seen from the Twain Harte area. Crews from Tuolumne and Calaveras are on scene to assist in the fire fight. They have now issued an evacuation for 60 homes in the Cold Springs subdivision.....

Escaped Debris Burn Cause of 28 Acre Fire in Phoenix Lake Yesterday

Sonora, CA....CAL Fire is saying an escaped debris burn is the the cause of the 28 acre vegetation that occurred on Wednesday at 14740 Lakeside Drive in Phoenix Lake. There were no injuiries or structures involved. Damage dollar estimate not available at this time. Hand crews continue to be on scene until everything is mopped up. North Beardsley Prescribed Burn Scheduled for 4/22/08

On April 22, 2008 the Summit Ranger District, Stanislaus National Forest, will begin prescribed burning on sections of the 1,575 acre North Beardsley Underburn project, located approximately 5 miles northwest of Strawberry, along Forest Service road 5N02. Groveland, CA...CAL Fire reported a vegetation fire that was contained to a downed white oak tree with no dollar damages reported on April 15th at 11026 Yosemite Springs in Groveland. There were injuries reported. Cause is under investigation. Full CAL Fire report enclosed.....

Escaped Debris Burn Reported on Monday in Tuolumne County

Groveland, CA...CAL Fire reported an escaped debris burn on Monday April 14th at 16160 Klein Street and Jacksonville Road in Groveland. There were no injuries. Damages were a 50 x 30 ft vegetations spot. See full report enclosed....

Angels Camp, CA….This afternoon the Annual Volunteer Firefighter Academy held training at Angels Camp Fire Department Station 2. The training agenda included hose evolutions, hose lays, portable water sources, pumps and large diameter hose. Bill Fullerton, coordinator of the fire academy stated, “The academy gives volunteer firefighters the basic firefighter training and techniques.” ……..

More Fires To Report

CAL Fire has reported four more fires that occurred this week....This is way too early for this. On April 8th there was a flue fire at 15138 Hwy 26 in Glencoe. The residence was occupied at the time of the fire but thankfully, there were no injuries. The 2nd was a vegetation fire on April 8th at 8727 Fricot City Road and Ponderosa Way caused by an escaped debris burn. The third was an escaped embers from a burn pile that caused damage to a small out building at 19085 Jesus Maria Road in Mountain Ranch. Damages are estimated at $600. The fourth was a vegetation fire from an escaped debris burn that occurred at 1540 Skull Flat Road in West Point. The fire was contained to 1/2 acre of vegetation. The CAL Fire reports are enclosed.....
