Crews Working Grass Fire in Vicinity of the La Grange Off Highway Vehicle Park and Paradise Area of Sacramento....Winds Causing Heavy Smoke in the Mother Lode |

San Andreas, CA...CAL-FIRE and other agencies are working a grass fire that is 12-15 acres in the La Grange area. If you hear sirens in our are it is because they are sending additional assets inbound. There is also lots of smoke due to high winds from this fire and also one crews are battling in Paradise which is in the Sacramento area. Homes have been evacuated in that area. We will post updates if necessary. Fire in La Grange has been CONTAINED.

Valley Springs, CA....CAL Fire states Arson is the cause of the 74 acre fire that burned 74 acres at Hwy 12 and Evans Road in Valley Springs on July 6th. One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion. The cause was under investigation and now they are stating Arson. The full CAL Fire report is enclosed....

Soulsbyville, CA....A vegetation fire is being reported at 10:19am in Soulsbyville near Oman Dr. and Loller Dr. Over 10 CAL Fire Units are responding to the scene now along with all Columbia air craft. UPDATE #1: Engine 4465 and engine 12 are on scene and have reported the scene being a chipping operation that has created smoke. Units have been cancelled and no fire is reported.

Calaveras County, CA....CAL Fire states an escaped debris burn is the cause of an 1/8 grass fire that occurred on July 7th at 4818 Hwy 4 and Darby Russell Road. No injuries or dollar damage reported. Fire report enclosed....

Murphys, CA....A propane leak is being reported at Murphys Fire Station 2, at 3424 Main Street Murphys across from Highway 4. A heavy propane smell has been stated by residence in this area. Please use cation.

Dorington, CA....A vegetation fire is being reported behind the Golden Pines RV Park on Highway 4 and Dorington. Fire crews are in route at this time. UPDATE 1: Engine 432 was first on scene and has stated that the fire is 1/4 acre. The fire is staying on the ground and no structures are being threatened. Crews must travel through the Golden Pines RV Park, please keep clean. UPDATE 2: Fire Contained, CAL fire has stated a 2 hour mop up crew will be on scene. Great Job Units!

Mokelumne Hill, CA....A vegetation fire is being reported at 7596 Andrew Lane across from Highway 26 in Mokelumne Hill. Many units are in route to the fire now, along with Columbia air craft. UPDATE 1: The fire is now being reported from the first engine on scene at 1/2 of an acre, with 6-8 homes being immediately threatened. Right now the fire is burning brush with homes very close by. UPDATE 2: The fire is now 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre. Once air craft is on scene, "we should be able to take down the fire," unit on scene. Thanks to quick response of crews, the fire was contained with no structures harmed.

Three Fires Reported in Tuolumne County over the Holiday Weekend |

Tuolumne County, CA....CAL Fire has reported three fires that occurred over the holiday weekend in Tuolumne County. The first was a 1 acre vegetation fire that occurred on July 4th at 4200 La Grange and Bonds Flat in Tuolumne County. No injuries or dollar damage reported. Cause is undetermined. The second occurred on July 5th at 18097 Lime Kiln Road in Sonora that burned a 1995 Jayco 5th Wheel trailer due to an electrical short. The trailer was not occupied. The third occurred on July 5th at Brentwood Lake in Twain Harte. It was a small grass fire that was caused by BBQ coals being dumped into a debris pile. No injuries or dollar damage reported. CAL Fire Reports Six Fires in Calaveras County Over Holiday Weekend |

Calaveras County, CA....CAL Fire reported six fires in Calaveras County over the 4th of July weekend. The first occurred on July 5th at 415 Sandy Gulch Road in Wilseyville. 1/2 acre of grass vegetation burned due to electrical power lines. No injuries reported. The 2nd occurred on July 5th at 7858 Mountain Ranch Road in Mountain Ranch. Cause of fire was Arson, Fireworks. A 20' spot of vegetation was burned. No injuries reported. The third took place on July 5th at 8434 Hwy 49 and Campo Seco Turnpike in Mokelumne Hill. This fire was also caused by Arson, fireworks. 100 feet of vegetation was burned from fireworks. No injuries. There was a 6.7 acre grass fire that occurred on July 6th at 6400 Hwy 4 and Telegraph Court in Copperopolis. Cause of fire is undetermined. The largest fire of the weekend took place at Hwy 12 and Evans Road in Valley Springs on July 6th which burned 76 acres of vegetation. One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion. The cause is under investigation. The incident remains open and mop up continues throughout July 7th. The last was a fire that occurred on July 6th at 5770 Hwy 49 in Mokelumne Hill. This was two fires that burned vegetation for a total of 3 acres. Cause is under investigation. CAL Fire reports are enclosed....

Fire Agencies Make Quick Work of Fires |

San Andreas, CA...CAL-Fire and local agencies have made quick work of fires that have broken out today. The largest consumed 75 acres of grass in the Valley Springs area between Hwy 12 & 26. No structures were damaged. There was also a small 7 acre grass fire in Copperopolis Area this morning. Two small fires broke out between San Andreas and Mokelumne Hill as well. All the fires are currently contained and no buildings have been damaged.
