FIRE NEWS.....Fire on Pool Station Road 1/2 Mile from Highway 4

Angels Camp, CA... A fire is being reported on Pool Station Road, 1/2 mile from Highway 4 on the left hand side of the road. The fire type is unknown at this time. Smoke and flames can be seen from the road. Units are in route to the scene. UPDATE #1: Units are having trouble locating the fire and are on scene now. Units that have not arrived on scene are staging at Highway 4 and Pool Station Road. UPDATE #2: Units are still unable to locate the fire and believe it was a burn pile, the smoke and flames are no longer visible from the road. Units that were staged on Highway 4 are now being canceled. We will keep you posted on type of fire when determined.

FIRE NEWS........Vegetation Fire Near 16300 Orange Blossom Road in Tuolumne....FIRE CONTAINED

Tuolumne County, CA.... A vegetation fire is being reported at 16300 Orange Blossom Road across from Shell Road. Units are responding at this time. UPDATE #1: no structures are being threatened, the fire has been reported by the first engine on scene at a total of 1/4 of an acre. UPDATE #2: The fire is now at 1 1/2 and with CAL Fire's quick response units were able to contain the fire from spreading and further.

Improperly Extinguished Campfire Causes Small Vegetation Fire

White Pines, CA....CAL Fire states an improperly extinguished campfire caused a less than quarter acre of burned vegetation at the Trails End area in White Pines on Wednesday. Dollar damage is $400. Reminder:Extinguish campfires with water, using the drown, stir, and feel method. For more tips log on www.fire.ca.gov, click on communications tab, then on fire safety education, then on camping. CAL Fire's office will be closed in observance of Independence Day. Be safe! Fire report enclosed....

Tuolumne County, CA... A vegetation fire is being reported on highway 108 behind the Rawhide Saloon in Jamestown. CAL fire and local units are responding to the fire now. All columbia air craft are also responding to the fire Check back for more updates....UPDATE #1: Sonora City engine 752 was the fire engine to arrive on scene and has reported a small spot, and that the fire will be contained quickly.

Update on Cabbage Patch Area Fire

Cabbage Patch, CA...We just spoke with USFS's Pat Kaunert and he said they had a containment line around the fire last night by 7:43pm. They are working to get it officially controlled now. They stopped it's spread at approximately 2 acres. On this fire they had 1 engine, 1 helicopter, 1 air tanker, 1 patrol unit, 2 supervisors and a hand crew. Crews will remain on scene throughout today and possibly tomorrow.

Calm in the Tuolumne/Calaveras Unit....The North Mountain Fire is at about 2697 Acres

San Andreas, CA...It was thankfully very calm locally fire wise over the weekend. One small spot fire off of J59 in Tuolumne County was the only activity we were aware of. This hopefully gave our local crews a bit of rest before the big 4th of July weekend. The Forest Service to the South of Us is still battling the North Mountain Fire that has grown to 2697 acres and has crossed into Yosemite. The latest stats on this fire is enclosed...
