Bear Valley, CA...We just thought we would post a happy outcome of Bear Valley & Tuolumne County Search and Rescue activity. Over the weekend a canoe capsized on Spicer Reservoir a couple miles up the long lake. All of the occupants were cold and wet but one party was missing. Search and Rescue teams were called out and the search was begun for what at this time was considered a possible drowning of the missing party....

Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Summer operations continue with the Bear Valley Lodge, Sky High Pizza and other core company facilities open for the summer. Bear Valley Mountain did however have to lay off 19 additional staff members in what had traditionally been year round positions. The seasons light snowfall and shortened season necessitated the cutbacks according to Bear Valley Marketing Director Rosie Sundell, It is hoped that many of the long time staffers can rejoin the company again in the winter.....

Bear Valley, CA...On June 2 a 20 year old Carson City woman was driving eastbound on Hwy 4 east of Bear Valley. As she entered a sweeping left hand curve her 2005 Toyota drifted onto the right shoulder. She over corrected to the left, crossed both lanes and rolled her vehicle...
