Bear Valley has been very conservative with their snow reports as they had reported about 6 inches of new snow and in many places there was easily a foot or more. NWS is reporting that tomorrow should be fairly quiet but on Friday we should see another wave that should bring us another foot or more....

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/15/2010 05:47 PM
Pinecrest, CA...Last weekend the Far West Central Series rolled into Dodge Ridge for the next leg of the United States Ski & Snowboard Associations Central Series Races. After starting the season off at Bear Valley with a slalom the next race on the schedule was the Ryan Lavagnino Classic Giant Slalom. Bear Valley, Dodge Ridge, Badger Pass & Sierra Summit are battling for the Rasmussen Cup that goes to the series winner each year. Dodge Ridge is currently in the lead with Bear Valley just a few points behind. The race also featured some touching reminders of the fleeting natures of our lives. The race is named after former Dodge Ridge racer Ryan Lavagnino who passed away waaay too young in a tragic car accident. Ryan was a very promising racer who counted as a career highlight of finishing ahead of Bode Miller in a junior race...
