Arnold, CA...Hwy 4...CHAINS OR SNOW TIRES ARE REQUIRED FROM 3.5 MI EAST OF MURPHY'S TO ARNOLD (CALAVERAS CO) CHAINS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT 4-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES WITH SNOW TIRES ON ALL 4 WHEELS FROM ARNOLD (CALAVERAS CO) TO THE MT REBA TURNOFF (ALPINE CO), SR 88 [IN THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA & SIERRA NEVADA] CHAINS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT 4-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES WITH SNOW TIRES ON ALL 4 WHEELS FROM 3.7 MI EAST OF PINE GROVER (AMADOR CO) TO 3.5 MI EAST OF WOODFORDS (ALPINE CO)

Calaveras and Amador County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be performing one-way traffic control on State Route 49 (SR-49) from the SR-12 Junction to the SR-88 Junction/Peek Street. Work will begin on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, through Friday, July 10, 2009, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Crews will be paving the roadway. Motorists can expect 20 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.....

According to Caltrans, Ebbetts Pass is currently open, but will close effective 5pm this evening. Please drive with extra caution this weekend and make sure to carry chains.
