Tuolumne County, CA....The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 108 from Mono Road to Cow Creek Road. Work will begin on Monday, August 8, 2011, through Friday, August 12, 2011, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Crews will pave the roadway in this location.....

Alpine County, CA....The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will work to repair the mountain slope at the Carson Pass, east of Kirkwood, near Red Lake Road. This project is necessary in order to improve safety at this location by decreasing the rockfall activity and resulting debris from entering the roadway. One-way traffic control is currently in effect at the Carson Pass from just west of the National Forest Boundary to just east of the vista point and will remain for the duration of the project.....

Local 8th Grader Headed to State Science Fair.....Still A Little Short of His Goal

Calaveras County, CA...Update 4/28/11: Michael has received some very generous donations from our viewers! The family is so thankful! "I am so excited for him, what a wonderful opportunity he has before him and with his drive to do the best he can, hopefully he will place during the state competition. He is going to go back to the IGA in Copperopolis again tomorrow with his project to answer questions and share what he has discovered. Hopefully by the end of the day he will have reached his goal , he has a baseball game on Saturday morning" States Michael's Grandmother, Cindi Bent.....Local 8th grader, Michael Legge is headed to the State Science Fair! Michael won 1st place at the Calaveras County Science Fair in his division with his project "Mysterious Bacteria vs. Evil Tobacco." Michael is a student at Mark Twain Elementary and needs our help! Here is a letter from Michael: "Hello my name is Michael Legge and I am an 8th grade student at Mark Twain Elementary School. Chain Controls Are Currently in Effect at this Hour

Hwy 4...Chains or Snow Tires are required from 0.5 miles east of Camp Connell to Cottage Springs. Chains are required on all vehicles except 4wd with snow tires from Cottage Springs to Mt. Reba turnoff. Hwy 108...No chain controls in effect. Hwy 88...Chains are required on all vehicle except 4wd with snow tires on all 4 tires from Drew Drop to 1 mile west of Woodfords.

Calaveras County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 12 from Southworth Road to Cedar Street. Work will begin on Monday, July 12, 2010, through Friday, July 16, 2010, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Crews will work on the drainage and sewer in this location. Motorists should expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible....

Chain Requirements For This Morning

Avery, CA...On Hwy 4 Chains are required from the Camp Connell area up. On Hwy 108 they are required from Strawberry up and on Hwy 88 they are required from Hams Station on up. So if you are heading up for the Dodge Ridge opening today you will need to chain up....
