FIRE NEWS.....15 Acre Vegetation Fire at Parrots Ferry & Natural Bridges on Friday Eve....Video Now Enclosed for Your Viewing Pleasure

Vallecito, CA.....There is a 5 acre vegetation fire burning at Parrotts Ferry Road and Natural Bridges. Parrots Ferry Road is closed to through traffic. More to come.....UPDATE #1.. Now has spread to 10 acres in size. Personnel are saying it is spreading up hill into the canyon due to the winds. Units from out of County and CDF are on scene. No structures involved. Both sides of Parrots Ferry are involved. Continued UPDATES Enclosed....

San Andreas, CA...After a round of public meetings, including a study session with the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors, and much public dialogue we can report the following to you. We confirmed that the Building Department changed the way they “interpret” our current Fire and Life Safety Code mid year 2007. They were strongly challenged for taking this new position and we did have some limited success in softening the impact. Where the mitigation since 1992 was to pave the driveway, that is no longer the rule of the land....

Another Fire Being Reported Early This Morning

Vallecito, CA....Crews are still on scene and mopping up a structure fire at 2866 Hwy 4 in Vallecito that began at 1:42am this morning. There is no injuries reported. A s story residential structure was involved with damage to one wall and 1/2 of the roof. No dollar estimate is being released at this time. Cause is under investigation. Full CAL Fire report enclosed.....

Murphys, CA....The Native Son's Hall in downtown Murphys had about 30 attendees tonight for the First District 4 Supervisor Candidates Night. The night's event was sponsored by the Mountain Chronicle of Arnold and Vida Mona Winery of Murphys. The candidates present this evening were longtime Supervisor, Tom Tryon, Lee Seaton, Sarah Lunsford and Ron Klass. Also present, were the current sitting Supervisors of Calaveras County. It was a full debate style show with two minute opening statements, panel questions, audience questions and closing arguments....

Vallecito, CA....For all women in Calaveras, Amador and Alpine, Moms In Touch (moms who meet together to pray for their children, teachers and the schools their children attend) will be having an event on Saturday May 3rd 8:30-1:30. We desire that all women teachers come as we want to recognize you for all your efforts in the classroom.
