San Andreas, CA...The Lake Tulloch item packed the gallery for today's meeting. Even New10 from Sacramento was here for the festivities. There was a couple of hours of back and forth from both side of this issue. Some of the property owners had numerous stories about overcrowded vacation rentals clogging the the tightly packed neighborhoods in the Poker Flat area with people, boats & SUVs. They would like to see short term rentals banned from their area. An even larger number of citizens testified at the meeting about the vital nature of the vacation rental business to our local economy. Testifying were not only real estate and property professionals from the Copperopolis area but Don Fry, Doug Shinn, Dan Sieder, Anna Gutierrez and others from around the county weighed in on the topic.... Meeting Video Enclosed...

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 05/30/2008 07:56 PM
|
Mountain Ranch, CA....We have had several inquiries about this bus vs. vehicle collision that occurred yesterday in Mountain Ranch. We did not want to make more of the story than it was due to it being a bus full of kids until we received the official CHP release. We also felt bad for the bus driver who was from out of town and obviously did not know the area. There were no injuries involved as it was a minor bump to the vehicle in back of him. Full CHP enclosed....... |

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/21/2008 12:24 PM
|
San Andreas, CA...After a round of public meetings, including a study session with the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors, and much public dialogue we can report the following to you. We confirmed that the Building Department changed the way they “interpret” our current Fire and Life Safety Code mid year 2007. They were strongly challenged for taking this new position and we did have some limited success in softening the impact. Where the mitigation since 1992 was to pave the driveway, that is no longer the rule of the land....
