Sender's Market Ace Hardware's Big Memorial Day Sale! |

Mountain Ranch & Valley Springs, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you've got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered. Click on images below for larger versions

Prevailing south winds up to 10 mph shifting to the southwest in the afternoon. Tonight, Clear, colder. Lows 33 to 48 higher elevations...42 to 52 lower elevations. Prevailing southwest winds 5 to 15 mph shifting to the southeast after midnight.

Governor Newsom Expands Drought Emergency to 41 Counties Including, Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer & Tuolumne |

Sacramento, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom today significantly expanded his April 21 drought emergency proclamation to include Klamath River, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Tulare Lake Watershed counties where accelerated action is needed to protect public health, safety and the environment. In total, 41 counties are now under a drought state of emergency, representing 30 percent of the state’s population.

Sacramento, CA...Critical Fire Weather Conditions Possible Late Tonight Through Monday Afternoon For Elevations Below 2000 Feet...Widespread gusty north to east wind expected Saturday, which persists into Monday afternoon. Combined with low humidity and dry fuels will increase critical fire weather conditions over lower elevations. Strongest wind expected along the west side of the Sacramento Valley and through favorably oriented gaps and canyons in the surrounding foothills. Lighter wind expected Tuesday, but dry and hot conditions continue.
