San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center presents the 21st Annual Fall Health Fair on Saturday, September 28 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Hospital Campus in San Andreas. “Participation in this event is just as enthusiastic now as it was when we started over two decades ago,” notes Doug Archer, MTMC President and CEO. “It’s a tradition – a great opportunity to find out about the latest in local resources for health care, wellness and social services.” He explains this Health Fair includes an especially wide-range of health and wellness professionals, nonprofit entities, and government agencies that collaborate in providing education, support services and lifestyle tools to the local community.

West Point, CA...Notice of Road Construction West Point Bikeway Project. (Main Street and Pine Street in West Point) September 10 to September 24, 2019 (M-F) 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Rolling Closure moved to September 16, 2019. Construction of the West Point Bikeway Project will begin on September 10 and continue through September 24 (estimated). There will be one lane traffic controls in place on Main Street and Pine Street from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM each weekday.

Angels Camp, CA....The Bret Harte Varsity Bullfrogs football team won Saturday's away game against Delta Charter in Tracy 33-8! Calaveras took their away game against Modesto Christian 42-8. Amador Buffaloed their away game against Liberty Ranch 42-0. Summerville lost their Crusade against Ripon Christian 36-13. The Argonaut Mustangs dropped a close home game against Hughson 39-35. The Sonora Wildcats lost Friday's away game against Escalon by a score of 35-13.

Rail Road Flat, CA...Complete Road Closure on North Railroad Flat Road From Noble Road to Wells Fargo Station Road September 9 – September 11, 2019 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This scheduled road closure of North Railroad Flat Road from Noble Road to Wells Fargo Station Road is taking place under a utility encroachment permit with Volcano Telephone to complete the paving portion of the project. Emergency vehicles and residents who live in the construction area will be granted access as needed.

Calaveras Marijuana Enforcement Unit Conducted Raids in Rail Road Flat & Copperopolis

Rail Road Flat, CA...On 8/27/2019, the Calaveras Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation on a location in the 1000 block of Simpson Rd in Railroad Flat. During the investigation, deputies located and eradicated 741 growing marijuana plants and a small amount of processed marijuana. Calaveras County Code Compliance responded to the scene and red tagged the property for county code violations including some related to unpermitted structures. No subjects were found on scene, however the investigation is ongoing.

Bret Harte, Summerville, Sonora & Argonaut Started Football Season With Losses

Angels Camp, CA....All of the Mother Lode League Varsity Football Teams kicked off the 2019 campaign in the loss column. The shorthanded Bret Harte varsity football team dropped Friday's away non-conference game against Orestimba in Newman 48-7. The Sonora varsity football team lost their historic rivalry game against Oakdale 41-7. The Summerville Bears lost Friday's home non-conference game against Mariposa County 30-24. Argonaut lost Friday's away non-conference game against El Dorado 21-13. Calaveras & Amador get their seasons underway next week.
