San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will be back in action on October 29th. Some of the items of interest on the agenda are below and the full agenda is enclosed. Recognizing Eagle Scout, Joey Bretelle, for his outstanding achievements. Presentation of 2012 Report of Agriculture. Authorize the Calaveras County Sheriff to approve an agreement with AT&T for purchase of Cassidian Vesta 911 System Equipment in the amount Of $219,871 for the new Sheriff’s Administration Building Communications Center. Approve the Construction Services Agreement between the County of Calaveras and Peterson Excavation, Inc. for Construction of the Arnold Rim Trail Cedar Center Bikeway Connection Project...

Trick or Treating and Pet Costume Contest at Animal Services |

San Andreas, CA...On October 31st we will be having Halloween fun at Animal Services by offering trick or treating during our business hours (8am-4:30pm) for kids and pets who are in costume. For pets in costume we will be having our first annual costume contest and I will be taking pictures of the critters in costume who wish to enter the contest. I will post the pictures on our Facebook page where the public can vote by ‘liking’ the picture, the voting will go until the end of the day on 11/3 and the winner will be announced on 11/4 in the morning. Grand prize will be 2 tickets to the Movie Theater in Angels Camp, 2nd place will be a certificate for either a cat or dog microchip, and 3rd place will be a $15 gift certificate for Spence Feed in Angels Camp...

Fire Report...Illegal Debris Burn in Railroad Flat |

| Railroad Flat, CA...On October 18th ground and air crews worked a 1 1/2 acre vegetation fire that was caused by illegal debris burning. As a reminder burning is still suspended until probably after the next big wetting storm. Fuel moisture's are still very low.... |

Ione, CA...Gold Country Shooters and Calaveras High School Sportsman Club Members will be hosting their first sporting clay shoot at Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve on Saturday October 26th. Tickets are $85.00 for 100 rounds with lunch included. No cost Lewis Awards and an Alumni Award will be given to the best shots....

Rail Road Flat, CA...The Friends of Rail Road Flat School (TFORRFS) would like to publicly acknowledge and thank the Calaveras Community Foundation for awarding us a 2013 STEM grant in the amount of $6,000+.
