Tuolumne County, CA... The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is performing one-way traffic control on State Route 120 (SR-120) from Big Oak Sidehill Viaduct/ near Buck Meadows to the end of the viaduct/ before Forest Road for bridge work.
This long-term one-way traffic control began on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 7:00 a.m., and is anticipated to last until Friday, September 20, 2013...

Sacramento, CA... Summer is here, bringing with it dangerous excessive heat. The American Red Cross has steps people can follow to stay safe as the temperatures soar.
“Excessive heat can be deadly; it has caused more deaths in recent years than all other weather events,” said Kathleen Weis, Interim CEO for the Red Cross Capital Region Chapter. “We want everyone to stay safe during the hot weather and have some reminders for them to follow when the weather is hot and humid.”
